Please review my carousel of skills illustrated below and visit my portfolio to see my most noteworthy accomplishments.
-
Plan it.
It all begins with an idea. But in order to bring that idea to life, we need to plan all aspects of the execution. I have used Figma often and Adobe XD for wire-framing and website design planning. I have found the platform useful for defining style guide branding, as well. See how I’ve used it so far.
-
Organize it.
Well-branded events require a continuity of design. To stage it, promote it, & display it. A single theme is interwoven into every element including: signage, promotions, presentations, attendee swag, and stage step and repeat. View my experience with managing the design elements needed for a single event.
-
Manage It.
I have experience hiring and managing a small design team. I also experience with multiple project management platforms including Basecamp and Monday.com. I spearheaded the initiative to convert to Monday.com this year. Plus, I have experience desiging and managing an intranet platform for internal use.
-
Collaborate.
I have years of experience working with agencies to design campaign elements in both web and print. I have collaborated with agency design teams to branstorm ideas, create Agile sprint campaigns and build out supporting assets for a single idea.
-
Brand it.
Branding requires more than just logo design. A successful branding campains require a uniquely creative representation of the organization that includes styles, visual representation in a variation of forms —-> all branding items represent a general idea/tagline that ties together design and purpose.
-
Illustrate it.
The human attention span is 8 seconds. An infographic creates visual interest and illustrates ideas in a format that makes viewers linger, longer. I create custom infographics, illustrations for custom content and survey results using Adobe Illustrator, In-Design and specific font chart tools to achieve unique designs that spark interest.
-
Redesign It.
Creative website redesign requires ingenuity and artistic planning to tell a unique story that will inspire return viewers. Redesign focuses around retelling similar information in a new format that reflects current trends. Redesign projects always include more than the website: Social Media, Email Promo, and integration with CSR platforms for lead generation.
-
Package it.
For the consumer, packaging is all about usability. It is the job of the designer to weave creativity with functionality. The process takes innovation and precise attention to detail. I have experience creating a variety of different packaging from wine packaging to promotional video brochures.
-
Create Leads.
Each company has feature products that require specific promotion to generate sales leads. I have designed Kiosks for commercial real estate, custom content series that span web and print with the sole intention of promoting advertising sponors, I’ve also managed internal advertising campaigns for media kits, advertising spaces and mail newsletters
-
Advertise it.
I have experience with Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Unbounce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Hubspot, Passendo Ad server and Google Ad Manager. And so often, the metrics drive the designs. This requires redesign, A/B testing and metrics analysis.
About Me | Shawnna Gallagher
I am artistic by nature. Creative problem-solving is where I thrive. I would define myself as an enthusiastic, creative graphic/web designer with strategic problem-solving skills, impeccable attention to detail and nearly two decades of experience in digital development, branding, layout design and project management. My skill set is wide and my love for learning new skills make me adaptable to multiple facets of marketing and design.
On a personal note, I’m a nature-lover. I relocated from southern Ohio to San Francisco then finally to Chicago, where I have been for the last 18 years. Upon first moving to Chicago, I lived in the city and enjoyed an atmosphere that was the opposite of the rural community where I grew up. I eventually migrated west of the city and back to my small town community roots. I now live an hour from the city on a beautiful farm property where I’m constantly surrounded by natural beauty. Add to that my love of photography, making my home the perfect setting for me to thrive creatively.
I have worked in a fully remote setting for the last two years though I have always worked in a hybrid-type fashion with every role I have had. I am an independent thinker with a work ethic that allows me to work effectively off-site. But, I also love being a part of a collaborative team, whether as a manager or just a member. After Covid, I think the professional world has adapted to remote working while still fostering an effective team environment. This is the best of both worlds for me.
